Have you ever wanted to cry when you finish sewing something? Not a “I hate everything and this experience was awful” kind of cry, but “I can’t believe I finished it and I actually love it” kind of cry! Well that was me with this dress.
I was super pumped simply because I love dresses and I love the color of the fabric. When I first opened the pattern I knew it wasn’t going to be easy. Sewing invisible zippers and setting sleeves are red flags that I’m going to be sewing, ripping out seams, sewing, ripping out seams, sewing… and you get the picture. It took me two weeks to finish it. Partly because life got in the way and people are more important, but it also took me two weeks because a lot of love and patience had to go into this dress to do it right.
Me and this dress are tight. I know everything about it, the things I did wrong and the things I did right, and I love it. It’s evidence that I am learning and improving. As I started hemming the dress, the final step, all I could hear in my head was the music from The Final Countdown. And in my mind I was jumping up and down in slow motion, arms in the air, with the biggest smile on my face.
Love the colour choice, and well done on you for making this, done great job. I be smiling from ear to ear if I done that too.

Thank you! This was my first time combining pattern sizes, so it means so much that you think it fits well! My waist is a pattern size smaller than my bust and hips so I just did my best to combine them. I get almost all of my fabric from fabric.com. They usually have great sales and I enjoy shopping online more than in a shop. :)
