I made it back from DC! I actually got back last Wednesday, but there’s no rest for the weary. Since I’ve been away I realized how much I’ve come to love the world of sewing blogs. I know I’ve only been a part of it for a few months but It’s grown on me so quickly. DC was great though, a much needed break. Some highlights from the trip were drinking Peregrine coffee every morning, eating at Good Stuff Eatery (if you’re in DC eat here, just do it and thank me later), seeing some of the First Ladies’ dresses, and Georgetown Cupcake.
Next up on the sewing list is Tilly’s Clemence skirt and Mimi blouse. I’m sewing them for one of NYC’s most beautiful, talented, kind, and creative women. Also known as my friend Julie. Check out her website, she’s an amazing photographer. In return for the sketchbook she got me I’m making her these little goodies. It’s my first time to ever sew clothes for someone. I’m kind of on a roller coaster of emotions when I’m working on them. One minute I’m super excited and the next I’m really worried something will go terribly wrong. But overall it’s been fun, I usually enjoy riding roller coasters:). I also got to make the pattern for the Clemence skirt. I thought this would be really hard but it ended up being so easy (because Tilly tells you exactly what to do) and so fun! I can’t wait to make one for myself in a few weeks.
I guess those are the main things that have been going on around here. I definitely got off my sewing schedule. I haven’t sewn one thing in the month of March, but my goal is to finish both the skirt and blouse by next weekend. Wish me luck!

There is something about sharing a passion for sewing that must make sewing blogs as addictive as they are!
