Bustling in Birmingham

Is it Monday already? My usual Sunday night thought is, “Can we rewind and just start the weekend all over?” It goes by way too quickly. I have some wonderful memories from this weekend though. Sometimes I don’t give Birmingham enough credit, but when you take the time to look it really does have some neat places. The city is slowly being revived and I’m thankful Dwight and I are getting to experience it.

Friday: We celebrated a good friend’s birthday with disc golf, dinner, and drinks. I learned, as with most sports, I’m not good at disc golf. It was raining and the grass was filled with puddles, so no one seemed to be playing to win. It was just a great time to bond and laugh. We finished the night at On Tap where my husband discovered they have incredible wings.

Saturday: We started the morning out at one of our favorite Bham coffee shops, Revelator. Dwight did some work for school and I did some planning for my summer sewing and blogging. Two of my favorite patterns I’ll be using this summer are The Alexandria Peg Trousers from Named and the Arielle from Tilly and The Buttons. After Revelator we hit up a local record store, Seasick Records, with some friends for Record Store Day! Then we all played a typical afternoon game of Clue, because who doesn’t love Clue, right? We finished the day with Chinese take-out (they gave us two free donuts!), Daredevil on Netflix, and some sewing for me. Also, huge props to my husband for these photos. He is my personal photographer. ;)

Sunday: This is our rest day. After church we can always be found on the couch watching whatever show we have currently claimed as our “Sunday show”. This Sunday we watched more Daredevil and finally finished it. :) I did some more sewing as well. Trying to finish up my Clemence skirt and my first Monthly Stitch post! This month’s theme is birds. Here’s a sneak peak at my fabric!

My favorite weekend discoveries: Alabama Chanin and Lucky Lucille

I hope you all had splendid weekends! I’d love to hear what you were up to, please feel free to share!
